The Power of Perseverance: Toshia Ferguson Fogle’s Story of Service and Success

Some people discover their purpose through careful planning. Others discover it through an unwavering curiosity that refuses to be silenced.

For Toshia Ferguson Fogle, that journey began long before she ever earned a security clearance, became a Cybersecurity Engineer, or helped families navigate the real estate market. It started as a little girl growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, asking questions.

So many questions, in fact, that her grandfather affectionately nicknamed her “the little news reporter.”

What seemed like childhood curiosity would later become the foundation of a remarkable career built on investigation, analysis, problem-solving, and service.

Born and raised in Charleston, Toshia grew up in a household where hard work, faith, education, and perseverance were more than values—they were a way of life. As the youngest of three children, she learned early that success required discipline, determination, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the path was uncertain.

    Those lessons would prove invaluable.

After graduating from high school, Toshia continued her education, eventually earning a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from Webster University. Her passion for technology, combined with her analytical mindset, opened doors to a career many only dream about. Today, she serves as a Cybersecurity Engineer and System Auditor supporting the United States Space Force, protecting critical systems and helping safeguard national security.

The work is demanding. Technology evolves constantly, and the responsibility is immense. Yet Toshia embraces the challenge. For more than a decade, she has built a successful career in cybersecurity while maintaining a nationally recognized CompTIA Security+ certification and an active Top Secret government security clearance.

But her story doesn’t stop there.

While many people would be satisfied with one successful career, Toshia saw another opportunity to serve.

In 2025, she earned her South Carolina Real Estate License and later expanded her reach by obtaining reciprocity in Georgia. Her transition into real estate wasn’t simply about selling homes—it was about helping families create stability, build wealth, and secure a brighter future.

For Toshia, both careers are connected by a common purpose: helping people.

Whether she’s protecting information systems or helping a family purchase a home, she understands that people are placing their trust in her expertise. That responsibility fuels her commitment to excellence.

Her impact extends well beyond her professional accomplishments.

Toshia has organized home-buying workshops, provided guidance to families seeking affordable housing, and mentored students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She believes that knowledge should be shared and that success becomes more meaningful when it creates opportunities for others.

That commitment is reflected in a personal mantra she has embraced and shared widely:

    “Live and Not Just Exist.”

It’s a phrase that captures the essence of her journey.

Like many successful women, Toshia’s path was not effortless. It required resilience. There were setbacks, challenges, moments of uncertainty, and long nights that tested her resolve. Yet every obstacle became a lesson. Every challenge became preparation for the next level.

Today, Toshia is a proud wife, mother, cybersecurity professional, Realtor, mentor, and community advocate. More importantly, she is living proof that success is not defined by a single title but by the impact we make along the way.

Her story reminds us that curiosity can become purpose, perseverance can become achievement, and service can become legacy.

And through it all, Toshia Ferguson Fogle continues to do what she has always done—ask questions, seek solutions, and create opportunities for others to thrive.

Because she understands that life is not meant to be merely endured. It is meant to be lived.

Real Women Atlanta Magazine celebrates women who are making an impact through leadership, service, entrepreneurship, and community. Toshia Ferguson Fogle exemplifies what it means to use your gifts not only to achieve success, but to help others rise along the way.
