Rev. Shivern Jeter

Rev. Shivern Jeter is a native of Columbus, Ohio and relocated to Conyers, Ga. in 2002. Where she married her husband Wesley Jeter and became the proud mother of her two daughters Zaria and Laila. She is also a foster mother, who has also fostered over twenty children over the years and has two currently residing with her now.

 

Shivern is the Founder and Executive Director of Foster Care Friends, Inc. est. in 2014. This organization was created to provide assistance to foster parents who need support with 365 school supplies, toiletries, clothing, and toys. The organization also serves the foster care community by providing CPR/First Aid/AED training, Impact training, counseling, therapy, behavioral aid, tutoring just to name a few.

 

When Shivern is not working with her foster children she can be found serving her community. She has been a chaplain for over twenty years serving currently as an Advisory Chaplain at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital, Asst. Chaplain at the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Dept..Board Member for DFACS (Dept. of Family and Children Services), serves as a School Council Member for the Rockdale County Board of Education, as well as a Substitute Teacher for Rockdale County. Former RER (Rockdale Emergency Relief) Board Member, and former NCNW (National Council of Negro Women) Chaplain, former Literacy Instructor for Christian Refugees.

 

Rev. Jeter has been a licensed minister for 25 yrs, and is a graduate of The Ohio Diocese School of Biblical Theology, Morehouse School of Religion ITC, and currently enrolled at Luther Rice Seminary and University. Rev. Jeter lives her life under Isaiah 58:10 “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
